Who You Are:
The Human Resources Assistant works closely under the direction of the Human Resources Director and works alongside the HR coordinator. The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for administrative support of the day-to-day human resources operations.
What you will be doing:
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.

Interacts with department managers and employees to assist in answering employee-related questions.
- Answer phones for the HR department
- Monitor the HR email inbox

Manage company recruitment efforts
- Post and refresh online open positions
- Maintains current and accurate job descriptions, coordinates job postings and advertising as well as pre-employment background checks as applicable within state, local and federal guidelines.
- Coordinates the onboarding and new hire orientation experience.

Backup for the weekly payroll process
- Review electronic timecards for accuracy
- Contact department heads for missed time
- Assist in the entry of employee weekly payroll changes
- Distributing and collecting weekly signed timecards
- Run and distribute payroll reports
- Assist with ADP and related software/interfaces
- Assists HR Coordinator with mandatory regulatory filings

- Performance reviews
- Quarterly newsletter administration
- Annual Open Enrollment
- Department mailings
- Employee engagement and events
- Compile training materials

Requirements of this job:
- Common sense and the ability to work independently, good communication skills, a strong sense of professionalism as well as the willingness to work long and flexible hours as necessary.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be discreet, as the position requires the handling of highly confidential information
- Advanced computer operating skills (Windows applications) and excellent keyboarding skills. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous experience using ADP is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must have exceptional people-skills
Schedule: We guarantee 40 hours all year round! Voluntary layoff accepted.
