Banafshe Law Firm, a prominent Plaintiff’s Personal Injury practice in the heart of Century City, is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Manager to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of progressive experience in a variety of Human Resources functions. As a one-person show, you will be responsible for the daily human resources activities of the firm, and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities
- Manage the recruitment process, from creating job descriptions to posting job openings, reviewing resumes, pre-screening candidates, coordinating interviews with department managers, and presenting job offers.
- Conduct employee onboarding and orientation sessions.
- Manage Time & Attendance, including ensuring timecards are complete, time off requests are processed, and missed timecard entries are corrected.
- Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now, applying State and Federal Employment and Payroll laws to ensure compliance.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Implement and monitor performance management processes.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all new local, state and federal employment laws.
- Support change management initiatives within the organization.
Skills
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, specifically ADP Workforce Now.
- Working knowledge and experience with HR and Payroll laws, both at the State and Federal levels.
- Strong knowledge of performance management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Experience with payroll processing software, specifically ADP.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams.
- Must be: highly organized, detail-oriented, efficient, creative, confident, nurturing, and a team player.
- You will need to: work independently, take initiative, lead by example, support federal & state laws, enforce company policy, find positive solutions to negative situations.
- Proven leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive issues.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR Certification preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.
- SHRM Certification required (either completed or in process).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
