We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry and document management.
- Maintain records and files related to importation of goods- (surcharges, exception lists, drawback, protests).
- Assist in the preparation of announcements for new and/or existing surcharges and trade maps; Assist in collecting monthly import BRC, GFS, etc., and preparing announcements.
- Maintain updated knowledge and records of CBP changes.
- Work with external stakeholders and consultants. Problem solve, ask questions of exporters, U.S. Customs & Border Protection and other Government agencies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Track and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies, communicate timely correspondence back to both customers and vendors
- Complete importation classification tasks prior to product reaching port.
- Manage and expedite loads at port to move loads before last free day. (Coordinate with other departments where necessary).
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to details

- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Great team player
- Knowledge of MS Excel preferred and/or the ability to learn new software
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or Take ACE import specialist course.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
