The Part-Time Information Coordinator promotes tourism in Athens-Clarke County by maintaining the Visit Athens online community calendar of events and overseeing inventory and distribution of promotional materials. Additionally, this role is responsible for overseeing requests for and distribution of Insider’s Guides, Maps, and other printed collateral to community partners and regional visitor information centers. Reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactively seeks out events information well in advance; maintains the Athens events calendar at www.VisitAthensGA.com/events using web-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program.
Assists the Communications Manager in keeping tourism and hospitality partner listings up to date, such as new or closed restaurants, shops, and attractions.
Ensures that posted events and listing information is accurate. Helps proof the monthly AthBlast events e-newsletter.
Manages bulk brochure and map requests from hotels, other local partners, statewide visitor centers, and meeting sales clients. Maintain accurate inventory counts by recording distribution in CRM.
Manage inventory of printed collateral and promotional items in storage. Provide needed items as requested by staff for trade shows, group welcome bags, media visits, and other uses.
