What would you do as a Intake Specialist
As a Full-Time Intake Specialist at Sanctuary Recovery Centers, you will play a vital role in assessing the needs of behavioral health recipients through thorough screenings and assessments. You will identify presenting problems and develop individualized service plan goals tailored to each client's unique situation. This position requires you to facilitate the coordination of care by notifying program staff of new intakes, summarizing essential intake information, and recommending appropriate services and programs. You will work independently across multiple sites while being an essential member of a transdisciplinary team. Your expertise will guide clients by providing accurate referrals and coordinating care with healthcare providers and social service agencies.
You'll maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources to ensure clients receive the best care possible and follow up to monitor their progress, ensuring they are on track for success.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma, along with a minimum of six weeks of behavioral health experience-five years is preferred but not required. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to connect effectively with clients and collaborate with team members. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is important for accurately managing client data, while knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality. Strong organizational skills will help you handle high-volume intake processes efficiently, and the ability to de-escalate situations and provide crisis intervention when needed is vital for supporting clients in distress.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma required
- Plus a minimum of six weeks of behavioral health experience.
- Preferred but not required: Five years of behavioral health work experience
- Knowledge of medical and mental health terminology.
