JOB INFORMATION

Designs, implements, and maintains integration processes between a wide variety of software and systems using SQL, PL/SQL, various system APIs, and other modern programming languages; works with stakeholders to gather business requirements; develops, evaluates, and implements integration solutions; tests and evaluates integration processes to ensure efficiency, data integrity, and security.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Integration Administration
  • Coordinates with stakeholders to analyze current systems and business processes, identify integration requirements, and recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency
  • Creates, maintains, and optimizes SQL and PL/SQL scripts, functions, and procedures to support integration tasks and data management
  • Creates, maintains, and optimizes Oracle APEX (Oracle Application Express) reports and applications
  • Ensures all integration processes adhere to relevant data integrity and security standards during implementation
  • Develops test plans that align with business requirements and user expectations; facilitates user acceptance testing
  • Develops detailed technical documentation, including integration specifications and user guides, to facilitate the implementation and maintenance of integrations
  • Monitors the performance of integrated systems and makes improvements as needed to maximize efficiency and reliability
  • Provides ongoing support and troubleshooting for integration processes

Project Planning & Execution
  • Analyzes business needs and defines strategies for meeting those needs
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of project plans and timelines
  • Uses standard information technology tools to track project work

Documentation & Process Improvement
  • Creates and implements workflows
  • Maintains system and process documentation according to department standards
  • Designs and executes process and procedure improvements
  • Trains other IT teams and users as needed

Institutional Expectations

  • Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

Six (6) years of full-time work experience in the essential functions listed above

This is typically achieved through a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, and two (2) years of full-time work experience which reflect the essential functions listed above.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the field of computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of experience integrating applications using modern business practices (ETL applications, APIs, file transfer, information security considerations, communication between applications)
  • Proficiency with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and APEX development
  • Experience with Axiom Elite
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner products
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Familiarity with education privacy practices and laws (FERPA)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

SCHEDULE & MODALITY

Based on individual assessment, business needs, supervisory discretion and/or college directives, a percentage of the duties of this position may be performed remotely.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • This is a 100%, 12-month classified assignment of the C2 band and grade
  • Please note: The college is currently undertaking a comprehensive classification and compensation study. No employee will lose base pay because of this study, however, classification titles and pay grades may change. The successful candidate will receive notice of all changes prior to implementation which is currently projected for the Summer of 2025.
  • This position has a 6-month probationary period
  • Will be required annually to read and sign documents related to specific department guidelines
  • All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
  • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
  • If requested, requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
  • Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment.
  • Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary requirements are met.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
