Job Summary
The primary role of the Logistics Coordinator – Mexico Operations position is to handle daily operations and communication with our customers, US Brokers, Mexican Brokers, and carrier partners in Mexico & the U.S. Our MX Logistics Coordinator will need to have general knowledge on how the cross-border world works between the U.S. and Mexico, its particularities, and challenges.
Duties
- Arrange cross-border transportation shipments between the U.S. and Mexico border.
- Assign, dispatch, monitor and update shipments, utilizing provided company tools.
- Plan and coordinate the daily schedule of loads.
- Establish coverage on freight entering and departing Mexico.
- Maintain contact with carriers to determine availability while negotiating transportation rates.
- Grow relationships with carrier accounts.
- Make calls to current and potential customers to promote business growth and development.
- Manage customs paperwork with both US and MX Brokers
- Track shipments from pickup through delivery (provide up-to-date information to customers as needed).
- Compliance with customs laws and regulations.
- Other duties and assignments as required.
Skills
- Understands cross-border market trends and Mexico regulations.
- 2 years of experience in cross-border freight operations between US and Mexico.
- 2 years of experience in the Transportation or Logistics industry as a broker or carrier representative.
- Experience preferred in dealing with carriers and customs processes in these border crossing markets.
- Bilingual: Must be fluent in Spanish & English (reading, writing, and verbal)
- Experience with Sylectus preferred.
- Experience with Ascent-on-Demand and RXO platforms preferred.
Pay and Benefits
$65000-$85,000 per year, pay based on experience Benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance, 401K, vacation and sick pay
