LOGISTICS COORDINATOR I – Albany, NY

The Logistics Coordinator I is expected to assist the members of the laboratory group and maintain day-to-day laboratory operations. A major component of this coordinator’s performance rating will be based on productivity, teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate external testing and validation activities
- Document external method validation activities per procedure
- Perform laboratory inspections as per department procedure
- Sample or delegate the sampling of raw materials, Intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)
- Maintain Sample Management sample storage areas such as Room Temperature, Refrigerated and Frozen
- Aliquot, prepare and coordinate with the Shipping department to ensure various samples are shipped expeditiously
- Inspect and clean fume hoods/laminar flow cabinets
- Regularly review laboratory logbooks and replace and archive as necessary
- Periodically clean out or coordinate the cleanout of refrigerators, freezers, or other active sample storage areas
- Participate in self-development activities and training of others
- May be responsible for releasing raw materials used within SSM manufactures
- May periodically review and update procedures
- May approve invoices for external testing
- Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of products and/or services
Required
- High school education or equivalent
Preferred
- Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or Pharmacy, or equivalent industrial experience
- Chemical Hygiene training
- Other pertinent training/courses
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Pay Range: $17.79-$21.15/hour
Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
