The role of the Subject Matter Expert I is to provide customers with shipboard & shore systems installation support, systems sustainment support, groom support & trouble ticket support, (CONUS & OCONUS). This position reports directly to the VIDS Group in Chesapeake, VA.
Work Model: Onsite
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- VTC operation, maintenance, and installation of video teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
- Performing optimal system functionality through meticulous installation protocols and preventive maintenance routines.
- AV programming and troubleshooting
- Working as a team player supporting Shore based AV/VTC systems world wide.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Mandatory:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and able to provide driving record upon request.
- Willing to travel.
- 1-2 year of experience with video teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
- AMX / Extron Knowledge.
- Must be able to attain a security clearance.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
- May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
Working Conditions:
- Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external confidential/unclassified information.
- Work is generally performed indoors (sedentary).
- Outdoor work, if any, is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
