IT Support Engineer – 1st & 2nd Line

Salary: £30,000 - 30,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven 2nd line IT support experience.
• Experience managing tickets through a ticketing or RMM system.
• Practical networking and troubleshooting experience.
• A structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and confidence supporting non-technical colleagues.
• Ability to manage stakeholders expectations and keep people informed.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle; travel between our Braintree sites may be required.
• Desirable: experience with Intune/MDM, Azure, firewalls, SQL, VoIP, PowerShell, or scripting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support, taking ownership of tickets through to resolution.
• Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, software, and user access issues.
• Support Active Directory / Entra ID, user accounts, permissions, and device setup.
• Investigate networking and connectivity issues, including DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and switches.
• Support new starters and leavers with accounts, equipment, and access.
• Monitor data, network access, and backup systems.
• Manage patching, software and hardware updates, repairs, replacements, and IT inventory.
• Liaise with third-party software and IT suppliers when required.
• Maintain IT documentation, user guides, and network diagrams.
• Support and take ownership of IT projects, system improvements, and infrastructure changes.

This IT Support Engineer role works closely with our IT Manager and provides hands-on technical support across the business, with exposure to troubleshooting day-to-day issues and opportunities to shape and develop the role.
