This position is responsible for providing direct service to consumers with mental health issues in the jail system to include crisis care, goal directed behavioral interventions, and direct support of consumers. This is a KPERS covered position.
Required Qualifications
- Clean KBI, SRS Adult & Child Abuse, MVR Checks
- 21 years or older
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Valid Drivers License with favorable driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Bi-lingual, Spanish language preferred
- Knowledge of the legal system, court and/or emergency service systems
- Previous Case Management Experience, including Crisis Services
Responsibilities:
- Serve as part of a treatment team for incarcerated individuals, prior to and upon release.
- Coordinate and advocate for inmate clients for mental health, substance abuse and the criminal justice system
- Assist inmate with completing intake paperwork and ensure all documents are completed timely.
- Coordinate jail discharge planning for inmates to insure continuation of necessary services upon release
- Assist with release from custody planning activities and act as resource for accessing appropriate community support and service, providing inmates with post-release resource lists
- Ensure the confidentiality and rights of the inmate/client including their health care and department documents, adhering to all HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Abide by policies related to the safety and security of the jail facility.

Pay: $24.04 - $26.44 per hour
