Your journey starts now—innovate and excel with ManTech!ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Network Operation Center Engineer to join our team in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
In this role you will provide operational support to maintain overall health and performance of DHS's enterprise network components, to include LAN, WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and other network platforms. You will monitor and analyze network performance via dashboards, telemetry, and user tickets to respond to potential network degradation events and outages. You will be responsible for investigating and diagnosing incidents to restore network services as quickly as possible, ensuring all incident details and restoration steps are thoroughly documented in the ServiceNow ticketing platform.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the enterprise architecture, design, development, and deployment of network services in support of government customer; perform site installations, technology refresh, develop implementation plans and schedules
- Research and implement enterprise-wide network solutions, capabilities, and enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives, while complying with the network architecture and design standards
- Produce SDLC project artifacts such as requirements, design documents, diagrams, and other required documentation
- Troubleshoot network incidents, providing root cause analysis and documenting information in tickets and knowledge repositories; support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts
- Coordinate system maintenance, monitoring, and installation of multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies
- Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation for network configuration upgrades, additions, or revisions
- Collaborate and capture customer requirements, presenting customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies; assist in the development and management of network architecture diagrams
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- 8570 Compliant certifications (IAM III/IAT III) and CCNA certification
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technology
- Experience with primary network topologies, LANs, WANs and other common network standards
- Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and QoS, MPLS
- Very strong knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, GRE, IPSEC, and VRF)
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP
- One of the following certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Data Management Pr5ofessional (CDMP), Six Sigma Certification, ITIL4
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a current/active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD suitability is required prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
The projected compensation range for this position is $57,900.00-$96,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
