REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Leave & Benefits Analyst
in Winston-Salem, NC
This role plays a critical role in ensuring the wellbeing of our employees by coordinating the various leaves of absences including Short Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and company-sponsored leave programs with our outsourced vendor. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate complexities in leave management. This role will work with employees, managers and HR while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and company policies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Partner with external leave administrator, HR Business Partners, and payroll to ensure accurate and timely leave processing. Monitor all leave usage to ensure all time taken by employees is reported appropriately and compliant.
  • Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with all relevant federal, state and local leave laws and company policies. Recommends revisions to company leave policies to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees on leave by reconciling leave records with time and attendance data and vendor records.
  • Advises employees, managers, HR and other stakeholders on leaves of absence programs and related policies/procedures to minimize risk from issues of non-compliance.
  • Responds efficiently and accurately to inquiries related to all company and state sponsored disability/paid leave claims to ensure related benefits are processed timely
  • Escalates issues to the appropriate resource as needed.
  • Collaborate with the legal team on complex leave of absence situations, laws and regulations and company process.
  • Collaborate with workers’ compensation administrator regarding claims in connection with leave of absence claims.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the leave of absence process and suggest improvements to enhance service and employee satisfaction. Work collaboratively with HR, managers, and the LOA vendor to identify and resolve any inefficiencies in the leave administration process.
  • Manage benefits vendor relationships and performance in accordance with agreed-upon service levels and budget expectations.

What are we looking for?
  • 4+ years in corporate business environment with 2+ years in leave or benefit administration, or customer service.
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or related field.
  • Proficient in the use of office technologies (MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), with high-level of proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in administrative, analytical or project management role demonstrating organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of employee benefit programs.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to prioritize with an attention to detail, work independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high level, responsive customer service in a business environment.
Beneficial
  • Experience with time and attendance systems like UKG, Kronos or ADP e-Time.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors, Workday or other HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Experience or demonstrated technical aptitude to understand flow of data to/from HRIS and payroll systems to vendors and resolve technical issues.
  • State mandated leave benefit experience preferred but not required.
  • Vendor management preferred but not required.
