POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to support our elementary and middle school FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) robotics teams. This position plays a vital role in helping coaches and students succeed by providing leadership, program support, and operational coordination throughout the robotics season. Evening availability is required for this position.
LEGO ROBOTICS SITE COORDINATOR POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and assistance to elementarymiddle school robotics teams and coaches during practices, competitions, and events.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe practice environment, including monitoring student behavior and reporting any issues.
- Have, or acquire, knowledge of the FLL program, FIRST® Youth Protection Policy (YPP) Guidelines, and annual robot game manuals.
- Serve as liaison between coaches, students, parents, FLL Coordinator, and occasionally FTC Coordinator regarding weekly practices.
- Work with the FLL Program Coordinator to track and maintain schedules, equipment, and supplies.
- Provide leadership and assistance for planning, coordinating, and/or executing robotics-related events, including, but not limited to, outreach, fundraising events, or tournaments.
- Attend and support teams at weekend tournaments (2-4 per season)
- Assist coaches in researching opportunities for teams to connect with industry professionals related to the annual theme.
- Provide monthly updates to the FLL Coordinator and Director of Programs on the progress of the FLL teams, and share team stories for distribution to sponsors, where appropriate.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND CLEARANCE
- Must pass Livescan background check
- Experience working with youth in an educational environment preferred.
- Experience with robotics, engineering, or FIRST® LEGO League preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position.
- 1-2 years of previous supervisory experience is a plus.
