MAJOR PURPOSE
Performs the general duties of Library Assistant while also implementing programs, outreach, and services to our students and faculty that foster academic excellence and spiritual growth. Must be comfortable using and training on academic technology, including AI with the goal of leveraging technology to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative processes.
This position is a minimum of 100% in person and is required to be available for on-campus meetings, team collaboration, and other meetings as needed. Additionally, this position may need to occasionally reachable nights and weekends, during library hours to escalate or resolve issues appropriately.
The pay range for this position is generally: $48,000-$60,000 Annually. Individual pay is generally determined by a number of factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops, plans, and executes engaging programs and events that support the academic research, and professional development needs of all our library patrons (undergraduates, graduates, doctoral students, and faculty).
- Develops and implements strategies to foster a strong sense of community and belonging among graduate and doctoral students within the library.
- Provides exemplary customer service to all library patrons, addressing their inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner providing basic reference and circulation services.
- Designs and implements outreach strategies to increase library visibility, resources, and services across campus.
- Hires, trains, schedules, and supervises student workers, provides feedback, and addresses any performance issues.
- Collaborate with faculty on textbook adoption and optimize the use of library resources, particularly for faith integration and supplemental readings.
- Works collaboratively with other library staff to ensure seamless service delivery and the achievement of library goals.
- Participates in departmental wide work, committees, outreach and events as applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certifications
- Candidates with an advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) or currently pursuing one are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge/Experience
- Two years experience teaching or training.
- Experience working with graduate students and fostering a graduate student community.
- Familiarity with assessment methods.
- Experience with marketing and promoting.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is regularly in a typical office environment with adequate light and moderate noise levels. No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. Air-conditioned buildings; tile, concrete, and carpeted floors; Library spans two floors, there are both stairs and an elevator.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle files, computers, and phones; reach with hands and arms; stoop, and kneel. Frequent and regular repetitive movements required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee will frequent lift and carry objects of light weight (5-10 lbs.); occasional lifting and carrying of objects of moderate weight (11-20 lbs.); frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and pushing; ability to push or pull loaded, wheeled carts of very heavy weight (100-150 lbs.). Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
