Kennedys, a global law firm with offices throughout the US, seeks a full-time Paralegal with 3-5 years of solid insurance litigation experience related to New Jersey law to join our team in our Berkeley Heights Office. Key responsibilities
- Ability to review medical records and add relevant dates/information to the medical chronology
- Prepare discovery motions (Motions to Extend Discovery, Motion to Compel Discovery and Motion Dismiss Complaint for Plaintiff's Failure to Provide Discovery)
- Experience reviewing Plaintiff's Answers to Interrogatories
- Schedule and coordinate IME's for plaintiff
- Research (Westlaw preferred) and other online sources
- Assist in retention of experts
- Prepare HIPPA Authorization Forms for Plaintiff's execution and return
- Retrieval of medical records from providers
- Follow-up with providers to ensure receipt of records of HIPPA request
- Perform Jury Verdict Searches using Westlaw
- Preparation of appeals, motions and privilege logs
- Production of documents
- Shepardizing [blue booking]cases
Our ideal candidate should have
- 3-5 years of relevant experience [Insurance Defense Litigation]
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Thorough working knowledge of and experience working the Federal and New Jersey court system
- Experience drafting and entering time entries
- Experience with Westlaw
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred or relevant years of experience.
The annualized salary range for this role is $65,000-$80,000. However, this is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
