DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, your primary responsibility will be to handle electrical projects within the electrical shop. This role involves executing essential tasks such as installing electrical circuits, receptacles, switches, ceiling fans, and indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures; and connects equipment such as large power tools, dishwasher, space heaters, refrigeration equipment, pumps, and office equipment by using the correct size and type of wire, fixture, and conduit/armored cable.

However, you will partake in the maintenance and repair work across various trades and facility areas when needed. You will execute skilled tasks at a journeyman level, confidently applying your technical expertise to identify the most effective methods and procedures. In this role, you will take charge of your work, making decisions based on established policies, training, and your expertise and job knowledge. Although, you will work independently, effective communication and collaboration with the team are key. You will receive clear instructions, either verbally or in writing, often accompanied by helpful sketches or diagrams, to support your success and contribution to the team.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime as needed
  • Free parking!
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
