Maintenance Technician Assistant - 2nd Shift

What this job involves: As a Maintenance Technician on 2nd shift at our medical products distribution facility, you'll be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment. This role combines routine facility maintenance with material handling equipment support to ensure seamless operations in our critical healthcare supply chain.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Change material handling equipment (MHE) batteries during scheduled maintenance windows
• Empty trash receptacles and gaylords when ¾ full in assigned areas (interior and exterior)
• Dust mop and maintain cleanliness along shipping and receiving docks
• Remove debris and trash from aisles and walkways throughout your designated zone
• Perform under-rack cleaning and maintenance (rotating through all aisles monthly)
• Clear dock door areas of load stops, lumber, and other materials
• Support pest control efforts by ensuring doors and containers remain closed
• Assist maintenance technicians with equipment inspections and repairs as needed

Periodic Duties:

• Weekly: Clean compactor areas of debris and sand
• Monthly: Remove spider webs from interior walls and clear exterior truck yard areas
• Quarterly: Vacuum fire safety equipment areas and clean sanitation lines
• Annually: Deep clean sanitation systems and dock door maintenance

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency with PC and mobile devices for work orders, email, time tracking, and safety training
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed maintenance schedules
• Physical capability to perform cleaning, lifting, and maintenance tasks
• Commitment to safety protocols in a medical distribution environment
• Forklift experience required; onsite certification training will be provided

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in warehouse or distribution facility maintenance
• Familiarity with material handling equipment and battery systems
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning and safety procedures
• Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical distribution environments
