Manager, International Sales (Japan)
Under the direction of the Managing Director, International Sales is responsible for the sales performance of each assigned region. Responsible for promoting fresh citrus and having the knowledge of competitive situations in applicable international markets.
Essential Job functions/ Duties:
- Responsible for managing the overall business for assigned markets: building/maintaining customer relationships, sales negotiation, sales strategies, volume allocation plans to packing houses, gathering market data, compiling crop data, receiving arrival feedback, logistics management, claims management, customer service, and problem solving to find the best solutions.
- Prepares marketing programs for export markets; supervises activities related toward meeting program goals and makes revisions as circumstances present themselves.
- Informs customers in understanding the inner working of the Sunkist export system, provides them with details of the crop and carious varieties and assists when necessary to secure fruit from Sunkist packinghouses.
- Periodically visits export markets to meet with local importers and check local market conditions.
- Works with Quality Assurance department to share feedback from customer/markets and execute improvement actions collaboratively
- Manages the claims process for respective markets with close collaboration with the Claims Department.
- Manage and ensure all necessary documentation is completed and sent to customers to ensure receiving and customs clearance on arrival.
- Manage Sunkist Global summer season business from off-shore partner suppliers to assigned markets.
- Handle packaging modifications as well as new packaging concepts to suit needs of global markets.
- Create incentive program ideas in order to maximize movement of undesired sizes/grades.
- Periodically visits export markets to meet with local importers and check local market conditions.
- Responsible for the international sales staff performance and export pricing in accordance with international sales policies.
- Supervises, assigns, trains and directs the workload of the export sales staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certifications/Licenses, and Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a produce or export sales role or other related experience preferred. - Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or business discipline preferred.
- Flexibility to travel internationally for periods of up to two weeks.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with internal and external customers.
- Ability to react to numerous circumstances in an expeditious and responsible manner.
- Strong computer skills: must be proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must be detail oriented; work in a fast-paced environment with high ability to multitask.
- Skilled at adapting to changing priorities, work environments, management styles and business trends.
