Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Marine Rigger to join our team in New Orleans. This is a full-time position for a skilled professional with a strong background in custom splicing and rigging of various commercial marine lines. You will work on a range of projects supporting commercial marine, offshore, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform hand splicing and finishing of:
o Double braid polyester
o 12-strand HMPE (e.g., Dyneema®)
o 3-strand and 8-strand lines
· Fabricate custom rigging assemblies to client specifications
- Measure, cut, and prepare ropes and rigging components to exact specifications.
- Inspect, repair, and certify existing lines and rigging
- Operate rigging tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Spool Finished lines onto reels.
· Maintain safe and organized rigging workspaces
· Work with sales and operations teams to meet client timelines and quality standards
Qualifications:
· Proven experience (minimum 2 years preferred) in splicing and rigging marine-grade synthetic ropes
· Knowledge of current splicing techniques and tools for HMPE, double braid, and multi-strand lines
· Familiarity with marine industry standards and safety practices
· Ability to read and understand order specifications and rigging diagrams is a plus
· Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team
· Must pass a drug test and have a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on feet for extended periods.
- Occasional work in outdoor environments, including docks or vessels.
