Marine Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Marine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine systems and equipment maintenance, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various marine vessels and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on marine vessels to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, batteries, and electronic components.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks as required for equipment installation and repairs.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and Ohmmeters to assess system functionality.
• Assemble and weld components as necessary for repairs or modifications.
• Work with sheet metal for fabrication or repair of vessel structures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.
• Collaborate with other technicians and staff to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with industry regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in marine maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, vehicle maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and their applications in a marine environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) safely and efficiently.
• Experience with welding techniques is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions typical of marine settings.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
