Position Title: Marketing and Communications Manager
FLSA Status: Full-Time
Reports To: Trishia Kholodenko
Salary Range: $68,000-70,000
Position Summary
Northern Seminary is a faith-based, Christian academic institution offering theological education to pastors and lay leaders. We are seeking a creative and organized Marketing and Communications Manager to support and implement strategic marketing efforts that help grow awareness, engagement, and enrollment for the institution. This individual will manage the seminary’s marketing calendar, digital content, email campaigns, social media channels, and website updates — helping ensure our messaging is consistent, timely, and mission-aligned.
This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a passion for clear and compelling storytelling, and hands-on experience with digital tools and project coordination. The manager will collaborate with internal teams and vendors to keep projects on track and ensure marketing deliverables support the seminary’s goals in enrollment, advancement, and brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Coordination
- Manage the day-to-day implementation of marketing plans across departments
- Maintain and execute a shared content and marketing calendar
- Coordinate with Enrollment and Academic teams to align communication timelines and messages
- Digital Communications
- Draft, schedule, and analyze email campaigns including newsletters, drip series, and special announcements
- Create and manage social media content (writing, scheduling, and design)
- Keep the seminary’s website up to date (content edits, page creation, removing outdated items)
- Project & Vendor Support
- Support and track progress on key marketing projects such as print pieces, video shoots, and podcast production
- Serve as liaison with external vendors (graphic designers, videographers, etc.), ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Collaborate with the Advancement team on semi-annual print publications — gathering stories, writing or editing content, and coordinating layout and production timelines
- Assist in podcast planning and promotion
- CRM & Analytics
- Regularly update contacts and workflows in CRM (Hubspot), in coordination with the enrollment and advancement teams
- Use basic reporting tools to track performance and inform future campaigns
- Event and Campaign Support
- Assist in the execution of enrollment campaigns
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure campaign and event promotion is clear and compelling
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience with digital tools such as Hootsuite (or similar) and social media platforms
- Basic understanding of content management systems (e.g., Hubspot) and analytics
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
Preferred:
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop)
- Experience working with nonprofits or faith-based organizations
- Knowledge of theological education audiences or Christian higher ed

Work Environment
- Hybrid work model preferred (remote optional)
