At Leggett & Platt, our Marketing Team plays a vital role in shaping product launches, competitive analysis, brand storytelling, and market strategy. Our department works collaboratively to create compelling content, refine strategy, and support the execution of high-impact marketing initiatives that drive success across various markets. As a Marketing Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic, innovative environment.
As a Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to key marketing efforts, from product launch asset development to trade show planning and social media execution. This role provides a comprehensive view of marketing operations while equipping you with valuable skills to succeed in the industry.
This internship is perfect for someone eager to learn, contribute, and grow in the field of marketing. Whether you’re interested in brand strategy, digital content creation, or competitive research, this role allows you to gain practical experience while making a real impact.\
So, what will you be doing as a Marketing Intern?
- Support product launches by assisting with sales training and customer-facing presentations, conducting market research, and coordinating sales sample shipping.
- Analyze competitor product launches across North America and Europe and create summary reports to inform strategy.
- Create and refine social media content by capturing images/videos and collaborating with the social media team to optimize messaging and scheduling.
- Assist with strategic marketing initiatives, including slide and graphic design, to enhance branding and communication efforts.
- Prepare and execute trade show deliverables, including NeoCon product launch lists, Internum press release follow-ups, and post-show reports with key insights.
- Additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Business, Communications, or related program.
- Strong skills in PowerPoint, Canva, or graphic design software.
- Excellent research, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools.
Things we consider a plus:
- Previous internship or work experience in marketing.
- Familiarity with marketing analytics tools.
- Knowledge of product positioning, branding strategies, or market research methods.
- Experience with social media analytics and content scheduling.
