CitiChurch at Citi Christian Academy offers arts enrichment for youth - GENERATION NEXT. Generation Next provides martial arts training for at-risk and low-income youth in the Allapattah community. Activities include Martial Arts Training integrated with Life/Social Skills, Health sessions, family engagement activities, field trips, and specialty sessions.
We are looking for a Martial Arts Instructor who is fun, energetic, experienced, a great leader, creative, punctual, organized, personable, loves to work with youth, and is DRAMA FREE!
Generation Next has a clear mission: Provide at-risk youth martial arts training and the life skills to succeed through teamwork in a fun & engaging environment.
Martial Arts classes will be held:
- Monday - Thursday
- 1:30 - 4:00 pm
- This is a part-time job with approximately 6-10 hours per week.
- The rate of pay is $20 per hour

Position Overview
Planning, leading, and teaching Martial Arts techniques, and physical and mental discipline to students in grades 1st - 8th. Because of the age and the emotional maturity of the students, we are looking for a martial arts specialty with minimal physical contact between students. This position requires the teacher to be proficient in martial arts instruction including administration, organization, leadership and facilities and equipment management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and follow lesson plans
- Teach all marital arts classes
- Ensure student safety and supervision of students at all times
- Assist with biannual student surveys
- Participate in staff development, weekly rallies, and evaluations
- Assist to establish and maintain an environment of physical and emotional safety based on respect at all levels
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is available and in good working condition
- Ensure student engagement
- Keeps track of student's punctuality and participation in sessions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferred OR equivalent experience in the field
- Certified in martial arts in the state of Florida, preferred
- Athletic and in good health
- experience working with at risk youth
- excellent organization, leadership and communication skills
- able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening
- bilingual preferred (English - Spanish)
