Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Enrollment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the enrollment process, ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and guidance throughout their journey. This position requires a strong understanding of medical coding, patient service, and case management, as well as familiarity with relevant regulations such as HIPAA. The Enrollment Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and their families to facilitate smooth transitions into care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with the enrollment process by providing clear information about services and requirements.
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine patient needs and eligibility for various programs.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and enrollment status in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-9 coding to assist in the accurate documentation of patient information.
- Provide support in behavioral health cases, ensuring that patients receive appropriate resources and referrals.
- Engage in case management activities to monitor patient progress and address any barriers to care.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients, answering questions and resolving issues related to enrollment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience in medical coding or familiarity with ICD-9 is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Previous experience in patient service or case management within a hospital or healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
