Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing excellent patient care, and maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the medical calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Handle incoming calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Process insurance claims, including Medicare and other billing procedures.
- Assist in clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep patient financial records
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely communication regarding patient care.
- Provide administrative support in managing office supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Proven previous experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical scheduling systems and Medent electronic health records (EHR) MEDENT.
- Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance verification with a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology.
- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail in managing legal and patient medical records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Experience as a medical receptionist or in medical office management is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications.
