Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing operations. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth patient experience in our fast paced outpatient Dermatology practice.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs
- Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures.
- Administer medications and injections under supervision.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of exam rooms and equipment.
- Greet and assist patients at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments and manage phone inquiries.
- Manage patient flow.
- Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Transcribe doctors’ notes and manage patient documentation.
- Coordinate patient care and follow up.
- Verify insurance and process payments.
- Assist with patient intake and clinical documentation.
- Support medical coding and billing processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, particularly in Dermatology.
- Knowledge of anatomy and patient care practices is beneficial.
- Experience with systems for managing appointments and patient records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with patients and staff effectively.
