Claims Pro is a boutique full-service Medical Billing and Consulting company seeking a results-oriented, highly professional Medical Billing Specialist with proven experience in the industry. The position is fully remote, and candidates must have a private home office work environment. Ideal applicants will be located within a two-and-a-half-hour radius of Philadelphia
Candidates will possess the following skills:
- Two years current prior experience in the medical billing field
- Proficient in claims follow-up activity and ability to secure payment on correct claims
- Skilled in using carrier web portals and industry standard web-based tools
- Skilled in posting ERA and paper-based insurance payments and denials
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of insurance remittances EOB's/EOP's and their posting
- Understanding of takebacks, retractions and offsets and their posting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement process
- Skilled in working clearinghouse rejections and payer denials
- Skilled in filing claim appeals where appropriate
- Skilled in working open claims and securing payment
- Coding familiarity and skills a strong plus
- Thorough understanding of medical insurance
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent phone and organization skills
- Strong communication, documentation and computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow established processes and protocols consistently
Daily duties include:
- Posting ERA, and paper based payments and denials.
- Follow-up on open claims
- Follow-up on claim rejections and denials
- Filing of claim appeals
- Inbound and outbound insurance company and patient phone calls
- Uploading, mailing and faxing of claims and appeals
Candidates should have multi-year experience in Medical Billing preferably with at least one of the following specialties:
- Dermatology
- Pain management
- Internal medicine
- Palliative Care
- DME
- Cardiology
- ENT
