The role of the Medical Administrative Assistant is to provide support to the Office Manager by completing time sensitive tasks with varying skill levels to support the goals of the office. This requires an individual with a strong work ethic, who can adapt easily and has a drive to learn and grown.
Responsibilities:
1. Checkout patients: Provide required information and schedule appointments to ensure that patients understand the next step in their care.
2. Communicate with patients, providers, and other healthcare entities in a clear and professional manner.
3. Obtaining testing results and medical records.
4. Contact review organizations and insurance companies to verify patient’s insurance coverage and ensure all necessary prior approval requirements are obtained.
5. Faxing and filing of medical documents.
