The Member Engagement Coordinator is responsible for inside and outside recruitment and retention of members through high-quality customer care. Membership Recruitment is conducted in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing members (half time – a 0.5 shared role with a full time Oahu based Membership Recruitment Coordinator). The second half 0.5 role is customer care responsible for offering the best possible customer experience to new and existing volunteers (phone on-call and twice daily Salesforce case queue) as well as providing hands-on explanations of any Membership question in Girl Scouts for both girls and adult members. Their excellent social skills allow them to foster strong relationships, to which they can attribute much of their success and an aptitude to use creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities to develop resolutions and strategic focus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collaborating with Membership Recruitment Coordinator on Oahu in identifying, cultivating, and executing comprehensive year-round recruitment events at schools and community sites for girl and adult membership growth. Utilize national Girl Scouts campaigns and partnerships to execute recruitment events and activities for lead generation.
- Organize, promote and attend bi-monthly recruitment events in partnership with schools, community centers, and community partner organizations to have prospective members join, volunteer, promote, and give of their time and resources. Recruitment events are typically held evening and weekends and may require a flex schedule (coordinate in advance with supervisor).
- Developing prospects and leads for conversion to members; Foster and enhance strong relationships with appropriate community organizations, corporations, schools and educators, faith-based institutions, and adult volunteers within targeted areas to positively impact membership growth.
- Making cold contacts daily, through telephone, email, and video calls, as well as follow up with warm leads to make sure council meets girl and volunteer membership goals.
- Maintaining strong relationship with adult volunteers through phone calls, emails, video calls, and in-person meetings, including assisting with conflict resolution as the need arises.
- Responsible for maintaining on-call availability to answer calls from volunteers and external audiences for high quality customer service experience. The customer care role requires excellent phone and communication skills as well as aptitude to learn new technology platforms and maintain daily case queue in Salesforce. Ability to learn all aspects of membership, program, product and retail operations to answer questions.
- Supports Girl Scouts of Hawaii Membership and Program Service staff with internal and external activities.
- Attend Girl Scouts of Hawaii required trainings, meetings, and special events which may include weekend and evening activities, as needed. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Goal-Oriented with Sales/Marketing Ambition with proven sales results.
- High Level of Interpersonal Skills

- Girl Scout experience, especially as adult volunteer, is very helpful (but not critical)
