What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors

As a Municipal Project Specialist, you will contribute to the development and management of MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) programs for municipalities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations. You will assist in creating stormwater management plans, conduct site assessments, and support stormwater permitting and compliance reporting. Your work will help municipalities reduce pollution, improve stormwater infrastructure, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of MS4 stormwater management plans for municipalities.
  • Help ensure compliance with MS4 regulations, including pollutant reduction goals and BMP tracking.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation for MS4 permits, including annual reports, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), and compliance reports.
  • Conduct field assessments, inspections, and audits of stormwater systems to ensure they meet MS4 standards.
  • Support municipalities in stormwater planning, compliance monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure compliance with stormwater regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of stormwater control measures (SCMs) and BMP recommendations.
  • Track compliance metrics and assist in meeting regulatory stormwater targets.
  • Help maintain strong client relationships and provide guidance on stormwater management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Familiarity with MS4 regulations, stormwater management practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of stormwater infrastructure, including BMPs and control measures.
  • Experience preparing stormwater management plans, SWPPPs, and compliance reports.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to conduct site assessments and field inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in stormwater management or related fields (e.g., Certified Stormwater Manager).
  • Familiarity with GIS or stormwater management software.
  • Experience with NPDES or other stormwater-related regulations.
