The Role:
Levy Park is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to manage and coordinate the park’s operations as well as serve as the primary point of contact for outside contractors who work in Levy Park, including building trades, facilities maintenance and repairs, and security. This key position requires a candidate with a record of dedication to developing high-quality public environments— whether they are parks, museums, universities, convention and conference centers, golf courses, or mixed-use real estate developments—as well as a track record of representing an organization to third-party partners and vendors. The Operations Manager reports to the Park Director, who oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operation of Levy Park.
Education Requirements:
Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or relevant occupational certifications preferred.
Job Description:
· Manage the Levy Park in-park team making sure the park is extremely clean, well-maintained, and supporting all aspects of park operation.
· Regularly inspect the park grounds, buildings, equipment, and horticulture to ensure they are in good condition and working order.
· Develop and implement daily task schedules for the in-park team, as well as a schedule of weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual maintenance tasks, and ensure the schedules are being followed.
· Create and manage an annual budget for the park’s operational needs.
· Manage all contractors providing maintenance, sanitation, horticulture and security for the park.
· Troubleshoot unforeseen operational problems as they arise.
· Oversee the in-park operations office, making sure it is clean, neat, and presentable and manage park telecommunications network.
· Oversee the park equipment inventory and storage facility, located next to Levy Park, making sure it is clean, well-organized, functional and secure.
· Work closely with the Levy Park programs and events manager to coordinate park operations and staff.
· Serve as a highly visible and enthusiastic public-facing representative of Levy Park and model friendly and attentive customer service for other staff.
· Regular, consistent, and prompt attendance is an essential function of this job. This position will require some work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience in facilities, landscape, and/or operations management where they have directly managed staff and contractors.
Candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent time management and human relations skills.
They must possess a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail software.
Candidates must be physically able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions supervising routine park operations, seasonal maintenance tasks, in-park construction efforts, as well as the set-up and breakdown of events and programs.
