Optician – Full-Time | San Ramon, CA

We’re a busy, well-established optometry practice in San Ramon seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, and patient-focused Optician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for long-term stability in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with frame selection, styling, and lens options
- Order and bill glasses/exams (VSP via Eyefinity, EyeMed, and other plans)
- Place frame and contact lens orders; check in CLs and glasses
- Perform contact lens trainings with new wearers
- Troubleshoot glasses issues and provide repairs/adjustments
- Use a manual lensometer to check in glasses and verify prescriptions
- Perform Eaglet Eye scans (training provided if needed)
- Provide outstanding patient care during every interaction
- Support the front desk with phones, scheduling, and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of optical/dispensing experience
- Strong knowledge of lenses, coatings, and frame styling
- Experience with Eyefinity and VSP/EyeMed billing preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, busy practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Typing 45–50 WPM a plus
- Knowledge of scleral lenses or myopia control a plus (training available)
