We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatments. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and the ability to work effectively within a clinical environment.
Duties
- Assist orthodontists during procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as Cloud9
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the treatment area and sterilization of instruments.
- Collaborate with dental receptionists to ensure seamless patient communication and support.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental assisting, preferably within an orthodontic setting.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures.
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Cloud9 is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in CPR or BLS is preferred.
