Job Description:
YES Class Mundelein is a K-12 learning center serving families in Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, and Buffalo Grove. We are currently hiring a part-time teacher to provide instruction in both Math and English Language Arts for students in grades K-5.
Students complete weekly booklets and attend 55-minute small group classes (max of 4 students). The teacher will guide students through concept-based instruction in math and structured lessons in reading comprehension and writing.
We are seeking an experienced and licensed teacher (or someone who has previously held a valid teaching, substitute, or paraprofessional license) who is available once or twice a week after school.
Subjects & Focus Areas:
Math:
- Introduction and development of core math concepts
- Problem solving and application
English (Writing & Reading Comprehension):
- Grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure
- Paragraph and essay organization
- Vocabulary development
- Comprehension strategies (main idea, inference, summarization, context clues)
Class Format:
- 55-minute classes
- Small group instruction (up to 4 students)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in elementary education
- Current or former IL Educator License (includes teaching, substitute, or paraprofessional)
Compensation:
- $19.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, between 4:00 – 7:00 PM (select 1–2 days/week)
