Job Summary
The TFE Extrusion Technician will be responsible for technically maintaining production in a defined area of the facility. This would include troubleshooting and correction of process failures, overseeing extruder assembly, understanding of tooling, overseeing extruder startup, ensuring best practice sheets are being recorded properly.
TFE Extrusion Technicians should be technically competent in running multiple materials, process configurations, and different sizes/types of extruders. To be considered for TFE Technician, a candidate would be required to meet the following minimum list of requirements. Meeting all of the requirements below does not ensure promotion to the position described. A number of other factors such as work ethic, attendance, and communication skills will be evaluated.
- Install proper tooling, load, run and monitor extruder with minimum downtime.
- Make pre-forms out of resin as specified on order card.
- Measure and maintain correct wall thickness of tubing.
- Keep tooling and machines in good working condition.
- Polish and straighten tooling on lathe.
- Keep work area clean and free of debris.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain good communications within the department.
- Assist with tooling & set ups.

Must meet the Technician proficiency within 18 months from start date. If training is incomplete within 18 months, then the employee may be disqualified from proceeding in the Technician program and will return to manufacturing shop-rate pay.
- Minimum of one year hands-on experience in operation of Secondary processes
- WorkKey Score Requirements:
o Math – Score needs to be a 4 or greater
o Reading – Score needs to be a 4 or greater
o Locating Information - Score needs to be a 4 or greater
- Wiesen score of 40 or better from Entry Level
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast paced manufacturing environment
