Job Description
The qualified applicant will perform selected quality control testing activities, dependent upon assigned area, including the following:
- Responsible for conducting in process and finished product testing according to standard operating procedures.
- Completes appropriate documentation supporting testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, and inventory forms.
- Enters data evaluated for compliance to specifications and reports abnormalities.
- Calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures and maintenance schedules
- Maintains supply levels to support performance of assigned duties.
- Reads, understands, and follows SOP’s and complies with cGMP’s
- Applies critical thought to solving problems.
- Performs laboratory testing as assigned and per schedule
Leadership responsibilities will include:
- Lead a team of scientists in a regulated facility
- Coordinate, support, and monitor performance of team through quality metrics while ensuring client deadlines are met
- Coordinate with client contacts to communicate status of deliverables, determine priorities, and set timelines.
- Set individual and team goals to develop the scope of work and responsibilities of the team
- Manage time off and payroll entries of the team
- May participate in new hire interviews
- Supports the on-boarding process of new employees
- Participates in training of other employees
- Ensure compliance with SOPs
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/MS in biological or chemical science (chemistry, or biochemistry, etc.) with at least 2 years of experience in laboratory industry environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to plan and carry out laboratory operations efficiently and effectively, maintaining accurate records of all experiments and data.
- Experience in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Quality Control experience
- GMP experience
- Hands on experience with PCR and/or capillary electrophoresis desired

Position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Frederick, MD are encouraged to apply. The compensation range for the role is between $35-42/hr
