Responsibilities
- Bathe, dry, and groom pets according to specific breed standards and client preferences.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during grooming procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of bathing areas and grooming equipment to ensure a sanitary environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and any observations made during grooming.
- Assist with kennel duties, including feeding, walking, and monitoring the behavior of pets in care.
- Report any health or behavioral concerns to management or veterinary staff as needed.
- Ensure all pets are treated with kindness and respect throughout the grooming process.
Skills
- Proficiency in heavy lifting to manage large or heavy breeds safely.
- Strong animal handling skills, particularly with dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
- Experience in customer service to create a welcoming environment for pet owners.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and pet grooming techniques is preferred.
- Ability to use animal restraint techniques effectively for safety during grooming sessions.
- Knowledge of basic as a veterinary technician is advantageous.
- Experience in pet sitting or dog training can enhance your qualifications for this role.
