Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient service and supporting the pharmacy operations within a hospital or acute care setting. You will work closely with pharmacists to ensure the safe and effective administration of medications, while also maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including inhalation therapies and other pharmaceutical products.
- Provide outstanding patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns related to medication administration.
- Maintain accurate records of medication inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling according to established protocols.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Employ aseptic techniques when preparing sterile products to prevent contamination.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient treatment plans and medication management strategies.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills and knowledge related to pharmacy practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacy operations, and medication administration processes.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and acute care practices is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating professionalism and compassion in patient interactions.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks performed.
