The Physician Practice Coordinator administers practice operations to ensure Cherokee Nation Health Services policies and procedures are followed on a day-to-day basis. Works collaboratively with practice physicians to ensure professional and technical operations are efficient and effective. Develops programs and strategies for the management of assigned physician practices. Ensures daily operations of the practices including overseeing, evaluation of practice staff, and independent management to ensure satisfaction for physicians, patients, and coworkers. Plans and directs the operations of assigned physician practices, including administrative, financial, and clinical educational activities.
Job Duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops shared services department goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation. Initiates specific programs designed to build relationships with physicians, the business community, developers, and other strategic partners.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards of assigned shared services personnel.
- Acts as a financial analyst and prepares and monitors all records of expenses, revenues, and payroll monthly. Prepares any financial statements necessary.
- Uses an understanding of physician income statements to address questions regarding physician charges and expenses. Provides expertise in third-party billing of physician services.
- Analyzes processes involving physician access, telephone management, and staff utilization.
- Reengineers any processes necessary to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness and productivity.
- Builds key relationships with significant contacts (practice physicians, Human Resources, billing, finance, department heads/supervisors, and contract contacts).
- Schedules and leads quarterly information-sharing meetings with each physician.
- Schedules and leads quarterly group physician meetings.
- Provides ancillary service management.
- Uses critical thinking skills when working on special projects as assigned.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of Practice Management/Operations experience; or a combination of education and at least ten (10) years of Practice Management/Operations experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
