The Pipefitter position is responsible for laying out, assembling, installing and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports and related equipment to assist welders in preparation of piping and pipeline systems and industrial processing piping.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Selects the type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
- Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain those holes cut for pipe will not cause structural weakness.
- Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers.
- Cuts, bevels, threads, and bends pipe using cutting torches, saws, threading machines and pipe cutting machines.
- Assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, and copper.
- Connects pipes, using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
- Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
- Maintain compliance with required HSE Training.
- Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
- Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
- Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives. The FS1 Facility Operator has STOP work authority.
- Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
- Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
- Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
- Promote and participate in Safety Programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Show knowledge of use of Blue Book
- Basic ability to read Isometrics and basic blueprints.
- Ability to cut and cope for structural.
- Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations with management and other employees in the organization.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to do take offs for project estimating purposes.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED is required
- 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the necessary skills to successfully perform the duties of the position is required.
- A valid Driver license.
- NSTC Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oilfield experience is preferred.
- Arctic experience is preferred.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to perform to the job standard. - MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man. Have correctable vision to at least 20/40.
- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
