The lab of Dr. Stanley Lee in the Translational Science and Therapeutics Division at Fred Hutch seeks a highly skilled Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to work in independent and collaborative projects relating to the molecular pathogenesis and therapeutic targeting of hematologic malignancies, with the ultimate goal of translating relevant findings into the clinic. The candidate will work in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary lab environment as well as in collaboration with external labs under the PI’s supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Project design, execution, management and communication of research data under the guidance of the laboratory PI
  • NGS library prep and data analysis, including, bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, epigenomic profiling (ChIP-seq, CUT & RUN, CUT & Tag), long-read sequencing
  • Functional validation of target genes using in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models
  • Developing and optimizing novel methodologies
  • Write and submit grants and first author papers to peer-reviewed journals
  • Opportunities for presentations at scientific conferences and symposiums.
  • Stay current with relevant publications and apply knowledge to research
  • Collaborate and present data with a wide range of stakeholders and partners
  • Train other lab members on protocols
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in a relevant field (cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, computational biology) with a strong interest in hematology research.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • A team player with strong aptitude for collaboration.
  • Strong track record of productive research and high-quality publications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong background in computational biology and familiarity with R and Python language is highly desirable
  • Strong experience in mammalian cell culture, gene editing, flow cytometry, and murine models
  • Proven track record of being creative, passionate, patient, and critical.
  • Possess a strong sense of independence and accountability, be detail-oriented, and drive to propel work forward.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $77,976 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security. Benefits include medical/vision, dental, flexible spending accounts, life, disability, retirement, family life support, employee assistance program, onsite health clinic, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation (22 days per year), paid sick leave (up to 30 calendar days per occurrence of a qualifying reason), paid holidays (up to 13 days per year), paid parental leave (up to 4 weeks), and partially paid sabbatical leave (up to 12 months for professor track faculty, up to 6 months for other scientific staff).
