Are you passionate about working with machinery and skilled in precision work? At U. S. Steel, we're looking for dedicated individuals to join our Maintenance department. With your proficiency in working with equipment like engine lathes and CNC machinery, you will ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and maintain high-quality standards.
Your Role:
- Expertly maneuver and operate advanced machinery such as engine lathes and mills.
- Translate blueprints into precise components, manufacturing parts to tight tolerances.
- Leverage CNC experience for optimized machining processes.
- Handle tasks independently or as part of a collaborative crew of maintenance technicians.
- Adapt to varied environments within the plant, including hotspots and noisy areas.
Essential Functions:
- Diagnose and fix mechanical systems, from hydraulic to pneumatic, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Support operational roles when needed and work comfortably at various elevations or confined spaces.
- Adhere to safety protocols, wearing necessary gear for full protection.
Qualifications:
- Experience of at least 1 year in manufacturing or similar fields, including military service.
- A completed High School Diploma or GED.
- Availability for rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Pass both written and practical Machinist examinations.
