The Preschool Teacher (working with children 2 1/2-3 1/2 years) position is part time.
- Monday-Friday, 7-1pm.
Note - Extra hours may be available if interested in becoming a Substitute within other classrooms (extra hours will not impact permanent hours).
Job Summary
The principal duties of the Teacher include: assistance in teaching activities on a daily basis, providing input on the effectiveness of child development, ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children, maintain communication with parents, provide feedback for the improvement of the center program and attend trainings/workshops as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planned, age appropriate activities in accordance with the curriculum to engage and educate the children.
- Support and provide for the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of each child.
- Communicate with parents.
- Assist in lesson plans and follow the daily schedule for the classroom.
- Administer screenings, annually and collect evidence to complete assessments, bi-annually.
- Be prepared for emergencies by participating in training, becoming knowledgeable in the policies and procedures of the center.
- Provide a pleasant, welcoming classroom atmosphere in which children feel comfortable and safe.
- Participate in meetings and attend trainings/workshops as needed.
- Carry out child care routines consistent with program guidelines; found in the employee handbook.
- Uphold state licensing standards.
- Maintain ratios in classroom.
Training - upon permanent employment.
- Attending and tracking the required 6 hours Ohio Approved trainings, every year.
- Update required trainings; including CPR/First Aid, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse.
- Continue to uphold OCCRRA registry by submitting trainings/classes taken; online and to the Director.
Education and Experience (Current)
- Required: HS Diploma.
- Certification in infant, child and adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Certification in First Aid.
- Certification in Child Abuse Recognition.
- Certification in Communicable Diseases.
