Position Title: Procurement Manager
Reports to: VP, Supply Chain
Position Overview:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for the planning, sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and inbound logistics of the needs of Basic Research. Ensure team members are actively participating in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information to meet our customers’ needs, pricing, products, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall inventory by utilizing MRP (material requirements planning), the commercial plan, and demand planning to make sound decisions to place orders with vendors.
- Establish and maintain programs to ensure that sufficient safety stock is in-house.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Work closely with Product Development to maintain and acquire new vendor relationships.
- Perform cost analysis and optimize vendors and the supply chain to mitigate cost increases and to find ways to reduce overall product costs while maintaining the highest level of quality products.
- Communicate and collaborate with various departments internally and externally.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of work experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain. Industry experience is preferred.
- Advanced understanding of Excel and ERP / MRP Systems.
- Skilled negotiator with experience developing contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Detail-oriented, driven, a high performer with an insatiable desire to win.
