The Product Lifecycle Analyst will work closely with the Director of Product Lifecycle Management to execute strategic initiatives that enhance performance of the OTC/CPG product portfolio, streamline offerings, and drive cross-functional alignment across sourcing, category management, and supply chain. This role is responsible for driving data-informed decisions throughout the entire product lifecycle – from initial introduction and market launch to ongoing maintenance and eventual retirement. By leveraging analytics, market trends, and cross-functional input, the analyst ensures that each product contributes positively to the business’s financial health and operational efficiency.
The analyst will support high-impact initiatives such as SKU rationalization, where the goal is to streamline the portfolio by eliminating underperforming or redundant items, thereby improving inventory turnover and reducing operational complexity. They will also play a key role in margin improvement efforts by identifying products with negative profitability and collaborating with sourcing and finance teams to renegotiate terms or recommend discontinuation.
The Product Lifecycle Analyst will play a critical role in lifecycle governance, KPI tracking, and cross-functional collaboration to help the OTC/CPG business unit deliver a leaner, more profitable, and customer-responsive portfolio that supports long-term growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lifecycle Strategy Execution: Manage the entire journey of OTC/CPG products—from launch to retirement—using data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration. The analyst ensures decisions are aligned with business goals, improve margin and inventory efficiency, and support long-term portfolio health.
Active Portfolio Management: Drive the continuous evaluation of OTC/CPG product performance across key metrics such as sales velocity, margin contribution, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction. The analyst identifies underperforming SKUs and recommends targeted interventions to the category management team. This responsibility also includes ensuring that portfolio decisions align with broader strategic initiatives such as Foster & Thrive and White Label programs, thereby maximizing vendor partnerships and delivering greater impact to customers.
Product Retirement: Strategically phase out OTC/CPG products with minimal disruption to customers and operations. The analyst manages inventory drawdown plans to ensure efficient depletion of stock, communicates retirement timelines to relevant stakeholders, and ensures that discontinued SKUs are accurately documented and removed from planning systems to maintain data integrity and operational clarity.
Governance and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date lifecycle status records for all SKUs within the OTC/CPG portfolio.
