Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Upholstery Manager to lead our upholstery, sewing, and pad building operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in industrial sewing, cut-and-sew operations, or upholstery manufacturing, combined with proven leadership in a fast-paced production environment.
This role requires someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and quality-driven, with the ability to motivate a team of sewists and pad builders to deliver world-class products. The successful candidate will ensure smooth daily operations, hit production deadlines, and maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Supervise and assign daily tasks to upholstery team members, ensuring balanced workloads and clear expectations
- Oversee cut & sew, foam padding, and upholstery production from start to finish, maintaining quality standards
- Design, prototype, assist in the development of new pad and cover products to meet customer and market needs
- Lead by example, promoting adherence to safety protocols, company procedures, and best manufacturing practices
- Strategically plan and allocate resources to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
- Manage inventory, materials ordering, and supply levels to support continuous operations
- Conduct regular quality checks, shop inspections, and audits to maintain organization and compliance
- Collaborate with assembly and shipping teams to align priorities and meet deadlines
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Resolve operational challenges and maintain a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Upholstery: 2 years
- Sewing: 2 years
- Team Leadership/Supervision: 2 years
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with 1 hour lunch break
Work Location: In-person, Lexington, SC 29072
Pay: $50,000-$60,000
