Role Overview
Mitsubishi Power is hiring an Offshift Production Supervisor in the Orlando Service Center. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in setting up and operating a variety of machines to repair and manufacture parts. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department/shift to include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
- Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate daily operations, including staffing, training, performance management, and shift handovers. Maintain attendance and resolve personnel issues in line with company policies.
- Production Oversight: Plan and assign work to meet production schedules. Interpret blueprints and job orders, monitor workflow, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Process Improvement: Implement LEAN practices, maintain Gemba boards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
- Technical & Operational Support: Estimate labor and material needs, manage inventory, and ensure proper use of tools and equipment. Support capital equipment planning and process optimization.
- Collaboration & Compliance: Coordinate with other departments to meet customer deadlines. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures. Minimal travel required (up to 10%).
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Associate’s degree or technical school certificate preferred; six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Communication: Able to read and write basic instructions and communicate clearly in small group settings.
- Math Skills: Comfortable with basic math, including fractions, percentages, and interpreting simple graphs.
- Problem Solving: Able to follow instructions and solve routine problems using common sense.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel. Power BI knowledge is a plus.
