Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to a variety of pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the grooming process. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and possess the skills necessary to handle different breeds and temperaments.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and cats of various breeds.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, providing recommendations for care as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized.
- Handle pets safely and effectively during grooming sessions, using appropriate restraint techniques when necessary.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any observed health issues.
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, fostering positive relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Assist with kennel duties as needed, including feeding, walking, and monitoring the health of animals in care.
- Stay updated on grooming trends and techniques to provide the best possible service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet grooming or related fields such as kennel work or veterinary assistance is preferred.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage various breeds and temperaments safely.
- Knowledge of animal care practices including bathing techniques, coat types, and common health issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Certification in dog training or veterinary technician experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential.
