Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional overtime as needed to meet deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Accountant plays a critical role in managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects. This role is responsible for tracking project costs, managing billings, reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and working closely with project managers, clients, and vendors to maintain financial integrity. The Project Accountant will help ensure projects remain profitable, cash flow is maintained, and financial risks are minimized.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Maintain and track project budgets, commitments, and expenditures to ensure financial accuracy.
- Work closely with project managers to review cost reports and forecasts.
- Assist in preparing financial projections and cash flow analysis for projects.
- Prepare and submit progress billings in compliance with contract terms and schedules (AIA billings, lump sum, cost-plus, unit-price).
- Track contract values, change orders, and payment applications.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices to maintain cash flow.
- Review and process subcontractor/vendor invoices and ensure proper coding to projects.
- Verify lien waivers, retainage, and compliance with contract payment terms.
- Reconcile job costs and ensure expenses are properly allocated.
- Maintain job cost reporting and ensure accuracy of cost allocations.
- Work with project teams to analyze variances and manage cost overruns.
- Assist in preparing work-in-progress (WIP) reports and monthly close processes.
- Review and ensure compliance with contract terms, insurance requirements, and lien laws.
- Assist with audits, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with financial and contractual requirements.
- Work with project managers, estimators, and field teams to improve financial processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Support the integration of financial systems and technology for better reporting and control.
